Jerusalem Film Festival, 2017
An immersive site specific public experience that was built for the 36th Jerusalem Film Festival in collaboration with CityPass - Jerusalem’s light train company and which celebrates the relationship between trains and cinema, movement and technology. On top of the existing station, we build a western style train station with fun interactive activities for the public free to use, while the station remained totally functional.
We replaced the main station’s glass window with an Augmented reality Led screen and a live camera, so people sitting within the station could still see the view in front of them it but also see old trains riding the rails, horses and tumbleweed passing by and many more surprises. Using sensors, we also timed the arrival of trains at station, that triggered the screen to turn to B&W live mode with sign announcing the train’s arrival.
At the Photo booth, Visitors and passerby’s were invited to get their photo taken against a green backgound and received a printed B&W copy of them in front of an old train.
At the Information Booth we screen two train movies side by side: DOUBLE WINDSOR (2012) by artist Tom Pnini. and Leaving Jerusalem by Railway (1897) by the Lumiere Brotheres. We also placed information brochures at the counter for people to take.
